The Alaska Teacher Turnover, Supply, and Demand 2013 highlights report found that while Alaska Natives compose roughly 22% of the student enrollment in K-12 public schools statewide, Alaska Native teachers only represented about 5% of the teaching force. The Student Pathway was developed to assist students, who are interested in the field of education, in planning for college, learning about specific degree programs at each of the UA campuses, and highlighting support resources available along their pathway towards becoming an educator!
